About this role
Mandatory:
- Should have at least 4 years of experience in journals copyediting with any of the reputed international publishers (e.g., Springer, Taylor and Francis, OUP, CUP, Wiley, ACS, Wolters Kluwer, Elsevier, and Emerald)
- Should be able to do Level 2 or medium copyediting
- Should be able to copyedit articles of both STM and HSS (including law) subjects
- Should be able to deliver outputs independently, meeting the quality, schedule, and productivity targets on a daily basis
- Should be able to meet specified deadlines and quality levels expected by publishers/managers
- Should be highly skilled in language editing (including spelling, grammar, and punctuation) and style editing
- Should be able to self-manage themselves (especially when working from home) without the necessity for any monitoring and without causing additional burden for peers or reporting heads
- Should have willingness to learn new things
- Should have hands-on experience with various style guides/manuals and language specifications.
- Should have exceptional English communication with a passion for reading and writing
- Should demonstrate capabilities of consistency and quality throughout the editing process
- Should be able to concentrate for long spells
- Should have analytical and comprehension skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Springer
- Familiarity with style manuals such as CMS, AMA, APA, and so on
- Knowledge of editing TeX articles
- CEs with educational background in engineering, computer science and HSS
