About this role
Role & responsibilities
Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for farmstay guests
- Cook authentic Malnad and Karnataka dishes, along with popular Indian dishes
- Be comfortable preparing simple Continental/Chinese dishes when required
- Plan daily menus based on guest requirements and available fresh ingredients
- Maintain consistency in taste, portion size and presentation
- Manage kitchen stock and minimise food wastage
- Maintain excellent kitchen hygiene and cleanliness
- Coordinate with the property team for guest meal timings and special food requests
- Be comfortable cooking for families, groups and occasional larger bookings
- Help create a warm, local food experience for guests
Preferred candidate profile
- Minimum 35 years of practical cooking experience
- Experience in a hotel, resort, homestay, restaurant or similar kitchen
- Malnad cuisine experience is a strong advantage
- Able to independently manage day-to-day kitchen operations
- Clean, organised and responsible
- Flexible and comfortable working in a farmstay environment
- Willing to stay at the property
- Kannada-speaking candidates preferred; basic Hindi/English communication is an advantage

We are not looking for a fine-dining or highly specialised chef. We are looking for someone who cooks genuinely good food, understands local flavours, maintains consistency and takes pride in giving guests a memorable, homely dining experience.
Interested candidates should apply with their current location, total cooking experience, cuisines they specialise in, current/expected salary and earliest joining date.I’d advertise at 20,000–25,000 + stay + food rather than putting a very low fixed salary. You can still negotiate based on experience, while the listing remains attractive enough to get candidates who can independently handle the kitchen.
