Control Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Generator Control Engineer with strong expertise in PLC, HMI and SCADA programming, testing and commissioning. The role will involve site-based commissioning, fault finding, technical supervision and supporting electrical generator control projects for clients in India, the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as a specialist in electrical generator control systems.
• Program, test and commission PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
• Carry out testing, troubleshooting and fault finding up to component level.
• Plan and understand the sequence of site and office-based activities.
• Identify required technical information and client inputs in advance to avoid project delays.
• Supervise site activities and coordinate with project teams.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations and design reports.
• Work closely with clients and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
• Identify and suggest improvements that can enhance project performance and client outcomes.
• Manage multiple tasks and priorities while meeting project deadlines.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Engineering.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience with an engineering contractor or consultancy.
• Strong experience in PLC, HMI and SCADA programming and commissioning.
• Hands-on testing and commissioning experience at site.
• Experience in electrical generator control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role.
• Good knowledge of engineering calculations and technical/design reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
• Ability to work under pressure and in remote locations.
• Strong time-management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
• IELTS C1/C2 level English – written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel internationally and hold a valid driving licence.

Shift & Working Requirements

• Willingness to work early or late shifts when required.
• Regular weekend work may be required.
• Overtime will be paid as applicable.
• Frequent and extended travel to the UK and potentially other countries.

Additional Information

• The role will be based in India and paid locally.
• Regular international travel will be required, including extended assignments in the UK.
• An overseas/outwork allowance will be provided for international assignments.
