    About this role

    Content Marketing Manager

Long-form B2B writing and executive voice for enterprise technology.

    About OrbitalSling
OrbitalSling builds marketing, content, and design for enterprise technology companies across IT services, engineering R&D, defense and aerospace, semiconductors, and enterprise AI, working in India and the US through entities in Bengaluru and Irvine, California. The work lives where strategy consulting meets creative direction.

The internal benchmark is McKinsey/BCG research depth, and for this role, the research-depth half carries most of the weight. Your ability to read and absorb complex technical concepts will determine your success. Articles, executive posts, research reports, and campaign narratives are expected to think before they reach the page, because the audience skims financial filings and analyst notes for a living.

    What will you write about?
The subject range is wider than at most content shops. A single quarter might hold a long-form thought leadership article on engineering services strategy signed by a CEO, a research synthesis on shifts in the global semiconductor supply chain, a LinkedIn series on commercial discipline written in a CFO's voice, a whitepaper on agentic AI for an enterprise CTO audience, and a campaign narrative for a new B2B capability launch.

The register sits closer to long-form business journalism than to marketing copy. Picture a sharp HBR article, a serious McKinsey Quarterly piece, or a TechTarget byline. SEO content-factory output is not the model, and a portfolio built on high-volume listicles will not land here no matter how strong the traffic numbers look.

    The four surfaces

The role holds four things that most agencies split across four people, and you need a credible standard on each.

    1. Original long-form writing for a senior B2B reader. This covers thought leadership articles, whitepapers, research syntheses, case studies, and campaign narratives, and the reader can tell at a glance when the writer understands the subject.
    2. Executive personal branding on LinkedIn, where you become the ghost voice of a C-suite leader over months and sometimes years. You learn how that executive thinks, build a calendar from their voice, write posts they sign without heavy rewrites, and report back on what is landing.
    3. Custom secondary research and competitive landscape work, used inside campaigns and as standalone deliverables. The synthesis is the value. Anyone can pull thirty sources, and the job is to read across them and tell a client what argument the market is making and where the open ground sits.
    4. Direct client ownership. You run review calls, present strategy and research to senior
stakeholders with no account lead in the room, and keep the deliverable calendar across several
      executive programs from slipping.

    What you bring

Eight or more years in content marketing, with substantive time in B2B technology, engineering services, or an adjacent enterprise category. You have ghostwritten or developed voice for at least one C-suite client to the point where they trusted the output and signed it without heavy rewrites, and you are comfortable presenting strategy and research directly to senior stakeholders.

Two things are ahead of everything else on the resume. The first is your command of English, which is held to a level that does not forgive small errors, because a single avoidable mistake in a CEO's signed article becomes the agency's credibility problem. Command means more than clean grammar.

It means rhythm, knowing when a sentence should breathe and when it should land, and shifting register cleanly between a CFO's LinkedIn post and a defense-industry whitepaper. The second is real curiosity about technology and enterprise business. You read widely outside work, you have a view on what AI is doing to enterprise services, and you can hold a conversation about why semiconductor supply chains are being restructured or how engineering R&D pricing is shifting under cost pressure. You do not need every answer on day one. You need to find the

questions interesting in their own right.

Tooling runs to WordPress, HubSpot, Drupal CMS and the usual social platforms, with SEO and marketing automation a welcome plus. An MBA or related postgraduate qualification is a plus, not a requirement. None of the tooling substitutes for the orientation above.

    What this role gives you
The subject matter builds durable expertise in enterprise technology, the kind that keeps you employable as the category shifts. You write for a C-suite audience directly, your range runs from semiconductors to agentic AI to engineering services inside a single quarter, and you earn real autonomy once your accounts run cleanly. Remote work is on the table for out-of-station candidates.

    How we work
The role runs hybrid or fully remote. Bengaluru-based candidates settle into a hybrid rhythm out of the KR Pura office. Out-of-station candidates work fully remote, as long as they stay reachable inside business hours, show up on video for client review cycles, and travel to Bengaluru a few times a year. You report to the Creative Director and work closely with the founder.

    Who does this seat suit
This role fits a writer who actually reads. If you can write at the register of serious business journalism, and you can present and defend that thinking to a CEO without an account lead in the room, the rest of the job will come naturally. The curiosity matters as much as the craft, because writing that is clean but uninformed is writing nobody wants to publish.
