About a minute. You'll make an account on the way through.

    About this role

    Job Summary

AI has made it incredibly easy to produce content. There are more articles, posts, emails, videos, and opinions competing for peoples attention every day.

We think this makes genuinely good content more valuable.

Were looking for a Content Marketing Intern who wants to become exceptionally good at understanding an audience, finding ideas worth talking about, and turning those ideas into work people actually want to read, watch, save, share, and come back to.

At Prodigal, good content starts with understanding.

Youll learn how financial institutions operate, how their teams work, what their customers experience, what executives care about, where processes break, and how AI is changing the industry. We go unusually deep into these details. We obsess over the people, processes, regulations, and edge cases that shape how this industry actually works.

That level of understanding should show up in everything we publish.

We want someone inside the industry to encounter something from Prodigal and think:
    How do they know that

And we want the content to be good enough that they keep reading.

This is an Intern + PPO opportunity (performance based).

    What Youll Do

    • Research deeply

Ideas can come from anywhere: earnings calls, annual reports, customer conversations, regulatory filings, job postings, datasets, online communities, sales calls, or an obscure detail several searches deep.

    • Create content people want to finish

Youll work across LinkedIn, articles, research reports, executive content, newsletters, customer stories, email campaigns, videos, event content, data-led stories, and formats we havent tried yet.

Youll think carefully about the reader throughout:
      - What would make them stop
      - What do they already know
      - What might surprise them
      - Where will they lose interest
      - What would make this worth sharing

The headline, structure, language, examples, and design should all come from those questions.

    • Learn the industry

You dont need to understand financial services before joining. You do need to be curious enough to learn it.

Youll understand how banks and lenders make decisions, how borrowers move through different stages of a loan, why an auto lender operates differently from a card issuer, how regulations shape interactions, and what changes when thousands or millions of customer conversations need to happen at scale.

    • Experiment

Try new hooks, structures, research formats, visual treatments, videos, interactive ideas, event experiences, and approaches borrowed from great creators, journalists, consumer brands, and places outside traditional B2B marketing.

Some will work. Some wont. Pay attention to why.

    • Think about the whole journey

A person may first see a LinkedIn post, later read a report, receive an email, watch a customer story, visit our website, meet us at an event, and eventually speak with Sales.

Youll think about how those interactions connect and whether each one strengthens the persons understanding of Prodigal.

    • Use AI well

AI should make you significantly faster.

Use it for research, synthesis, transcript analysis, idea exploration, pattern finding, alternative approaches, and iteration.

Youll still be responsible for judgment.

You should notice when something sounds generic, when a polished paragraph says very little, when an idea needs a better premise, and when one version among ten is clearly stronger.

As generating content becomes easier, taste becomes more important.

    What Were Looking For

    • Curiosity. You enjoy understanding things and tend to keep digging when something catches your attention.
    • Taste. You notice when something is genuinely interesting, generic, forced, overdone, or forgettable. Your taste might come from writing, film, design, advertising, music, YouTube, journalism, memes, or something completely different.
    • Reader instinct. You naturally think about how something will land with another person and what will make them care.
    • Energy. Ideas excite you. You like making things, trying another version, and bringing momentum into a project.
    • Clear thinking. You can consume a lot of information, decide what matters, and explain something complicated simply.
    • Love for language. You care about words, openings, rhythm, and whether something sounds like an actual human wrote it.
    • Iteration. You can make several versions, take feedback, throw away something you liked, and improve it.
    • Independent thinking. You question conventions, bring references from outside B2B marketing, and are comfortable suggesting ideas we havent considered.
    • Attention to detail. Names, numbers, sources, terminology, claims, and context need to be right.

You Dont Need a Traditional Content Background

This could be your first formal marketing role.

Were interested in people who have chosen to make things on their own.

Maybe youve written online, started a newsletter, made videos, built a social page or community, run a college publication, created great memes, developed a side project, researched one topic obsessively, or built an audience around something you care about.

    Why This Role Is Interesting

    Content is changing quickly.

AI is dramatically reducing the time required to research, draft, edit, design, and produce. Someone with curiosity, judgment, taste, and energy can now explore more ideas and iterate much faster than was possible a few years ago.

Youll get to develop those skills while working close to founders, product teams, engineers, Sales, customers, industry operators, and people who have spent years understanding how financial institutions actually work.

Youll also have room to leave a mark.

Years from now, there should be things in Prodigals body of work that exist partly because you were here and thought of them.

From day 1, Prodigal has been defined by talented, humble, and hungry leaders and we want
