Job Description – Python Developer / SWIFT ISO 20022 Integration Consultant

About the Role We are seeking an experienced

Python Developer with strong SWIFT and ISO 20022 domain knowledge to support a global banking organization headquartered in Washington, DC, USA. The consultant will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining Python-based solutions that automate financial messaging, trade settlement matching, and exception identification processes. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Python development and integration, along with a strong understanding of SWIFT messaging standards and ISO 20022.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Python-based applications for financial messaging and trade settlement automation.
• Work with SWIFT messages and financial messaging standards, including ISO 20022.
• Develop solutions to extract and process relevant information from SWIFT messages and perform automated matching based on predefined business criteria.
• Work with SWIFT message types such as

MT300, MT320, MT900, MT910, MT544, MT545, MT546, MT547, and MT548 .

• Build and maintain integrations between Python applications and financial systems.
• Support automated trade confirmation and settlement matching processes.
• Develop solutions to identify and manage exceptions in financial transaction processing.
• Work with Python applications hosted on

SharePoint and integrated with scheduled/automated task execution.

• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing automation processes.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure solutions are reliable, maintainable, and aligned with financial industry standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in

Python development .

• Experience in

Python integration and automation .

• Strong knowledge of

SWIFT messaging and financial messaging standards.

• Good understanding of

SWIFT ISO 20022 and message mapping concepts.

• Experience working with

SWIFT MT messages , particularly:

• MT300
• MT320
• MT900
• MT910
• MT544
• MT545
• MT546
• MT547
• MT548
• Experience in

trade confirmation, trade settlement, or financial transaction matching .

• Knowledge of financial markets, banking, treasury, or post-trade processing is highly desirable.
• Experience working with automated scheduling or task schedulers.
• Experience with

SharePoint-based applications or integrations is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
