Position Summary

The Onco Surgeon will be responsible for diagnosing, staging, and surgically treating solid tumors and complex cancers. Located in the Mahagaon/Kolhapur area, this role involves managing outpatient consultations, performing major tumor resections, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based cancer care.

Key Responsibilities

• Surgical Interventions: Perform complex oncological surgeries including radical tumor resections, organ-sparing procedures, and lymph node dissections.
• Diagnosis Patient Assessment: Conduct OPD consultations to evaluate cancer patients, perform biopsies, stage malignancies, and discuss surgical risks and outcomes.
• Multidisciplinary Tumor Boards: Partner with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and radiologists to create integrated treatment plans.
• Pre- Post-Operative Care: Lead ICU and ward rounds, manage surgical recovery, minimize complications, and oversee long-term follow-up care.
• Documentation Protocols: Maintain accurate surgical and clinical records while upholding hospital safety and quality standards.

Qualifications Requirements

• Education: M.Ch in Surgical Oncology or DNB in Surgical Oncology (with an MS/DNB in General Surgery foundation).
• Registration: Valid registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) or National Medical Commission (NMC).
• Experience: Open to entry-level candidates (0-2 years) as well as experienced consultants (3-8+ years).
• Clinical Skills: High precision in open and minimally invasive/laparoscopic surgical oncology techniques.
• Languages: Proficiency in Marathi and Hindi is highly preferred for effective patient communication in rural and semi-urban settings like Mahagaon.
