Consultant - CTVS (Adult & Paediatric)

Role & responsibilities:

• Perform or assist with adult cardiac procedures according to qualifications, privileges, and institutional scope, including:
• Coronary artery bypass grafting.
• Aortic, mitral, and tricuspid valve repair or replacement.
• Surgery for infective endocarditis.
• Aortic root, ascending aorta, and arch procedures.
• Surgery for cardiac tumours and selected arrhythmias.
• Reoperations and other complex or high-risk cardiac procedures.
• Perform or assist with procedures appropriate to clinical privileges, including:
• Closure of atrial and ventricular septal defects.
• Repair of patent ductus arteriosus and coarctation of the aorta.
• Repair of tetralogy of Fallot and other cyanotic congenital defects.
• Management of congenital valve abnormalities.
• Palliative procedures for complex congenital heart disease.
• Staged and definitive repair of single-ventricle and other complex lesions.
• Participate in antenatal counselling and treatment planning with foetal medicine, obstetrics, neonatology, and paediatric cardiology teams.
• Consider growth, development, anatomy, physiological reserve, and family circumstances when planning treatment.

Preferred candidate profile:

Education: M.Ch /DrNB (CTVS)

Experience: 3 - 5 years
