About this role
Job Title – Construction Materials Laboratory Technician
Job Type - Full-time, Permanent
Location – Leicester - LE7 3XD
Salary – £25,550 - £28,000 (negotiable depending on experience) + overtime pay
Shift – Day shift patterns between 8:00am to 5:00pm
Benefits - On-site free parking, certified training provided, daily overtime available (weekend premium overtime rate of 1.5 times basic), and career development opportunities are available as the company grows. Company bonus scheme.

We specialise in all areas of asphalt, aggregates, earthworks, and concrete from initial production to verification on-site and within our purpose-built in-house UKAS accredited laboratories. We operate testing on-site and also here at the laboratory.

- Responsible for the preparation and testing of materials for use in new and existing highway construction
- Preparation of Binder and Grading samples
- Riffling/quartering of samples as/when needed
- Stripping and labelling of concrete cubes and cylinders
- Asphalt core preparation
- General housekeeping; Keeping laboratory areas clean and tidy
- Assisting with day-to-day tasks as required by the laboratory team and/or laboratory management
- Working with British and EN Standards to give an accurate report on their compliance.
- 4 GCSE's – grade C or above to include at least one Science.
- Ability to multitask.
- The passion to learn and progress within a rapidly growing company.
- High levels of attention to detail to ensure all records are accurately kept.
- Experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
- Technician, Lab Technician, Laboratory Technician, Tester, Site Tester, Construction Engineer, Materials Technician, Soils Technician Etc
