Job Summary

Position Title: Construction Manager (KGISL SEZ, Sarvanampatti)

Reports To: CEO

Location: Coimbatore

Qualification: Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction management, including experience with large-scale commercial or residential projects.

Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from initiation to completion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to define project scope, goals, and objectives.
• Review and approve project designs, blueprints, and specifications to ensure they meet client requirements.
• Procure materials, labor, and equipment necessary for the project.
• Oversee daily operations on construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
• Manage and supervise construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning laws, and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
• Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction to minimize delays.
• Prepare detailed budgets and track project costs.
• Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring projects are completed within budget.
• Review and approve invoices and purchase orders.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain cost-effective solutions.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Ensure the use of quality materials and construction practices, adhering to the project s specifications.
• Conduct quality control inspections at various stages of construction to guarantee work meets required standards.
• Oversee the implementation of environmental sustainability practices, if applicable.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project stakeholders, and team members.
• Provide regular updates to clients and stakeholders on project progress, timelines, and any issues or concerns.
• Prepare and present detailed progress reports, including schedule updates and any budget adjustments.
• Oversee the preparation and administration of contracts, including subcontractor agreements.
• Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and resolve any disputes that arise.
• Lead and mentor a team of construction professionals, ensuring their development and efficiency.
• Manage the recruitment and performance of subcontractors and vendors.

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• LEED accreditation (if working on sustainable projects) is a plus.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Proficient in project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, etc.).
• Familiarity with cost estimating and scheduling software.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions

• The role requires time spent on construction sites, which may include long hours, physical activity, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• Occasional travel may be required, depending on the project location.
