Role & responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all computer systems, peripherals, and equipment in the computer lab.
• Ensure that all lab computers are functioning properly and are available for student and faculty use.
• Install, configure, update, and maintain required software applications in a timely manner.
• Ensure that operating systems, software, antivirus, and other required applications are regularly updated.
• Maintain the Computer Lab In/Out Register and ensure proper documentation of lab usage.
• Monitor the use of computer systems and ensure that students follow lab rules and guidelines.
• Assist students and faculty with basic technical issues related to computers, software, and peripherals.
• Take responsibility for the safety, proper handling, and maintenance of computer parts and accessories.
• Maintain records of computer parts, accessories, equipment, and other lab assets.
• Report damaged, faulty, or missing equipment to the concerned authority and coordinate for repair or replacement.
• Monitor inventory levels of computer parts and accessories and communicate requirements to the concerned team.
• Ensure the lab is clean, organized, and ready for classes, workshops, and other academic activities.
• Support faculty members during practical sessions, workshops, examinations, and other lab-related activities.
• Coordinate with the IT/technical team for hardware, software, networking, and other technical requirements.
• Ensure that all lab-related records and documentation are maintained properly.
• Perform any other lab-related responsibilities assigned by the HoD or concerned authority.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of computer hardware, software, and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to install and update software applications.
• Basic understanding of computer networking and peripherals.
• Good organizational and record-maintenance skills.
• Ability to handle and communicate effectively with students and faculty.
• Responsible handling of computer equipment and accessories.
• Ability to identify and report technical issues promptly.
