• Manage margin calls: When clients need to pay additional money as margin, you will calculate the amount and make sure it is paid on time.
• Manage cash: Monitor money coming into and going out of client accounts.
• Process bank transfers: Handle wire transfers and make sure payments reach the correct accounts.
• Reconcile accounts: Compare records from different systems/banks and investigate any differences.
• Check securities/collateral: Manage non-cash collateral such as securities provided by clients.
• Balance accounts and inventory: Make sure cash, securities, and trade positions match the records.
• Investigate breaks: If the bank's records don't match your company's records, find out why and resolve the issue.
• Work with clients: Answer client questions and communicate with internal teams.
• Read SWIFT messages: Understand banking/payment messages used for international transactions.
• Prepare reports: Track KPIs and identify trends or recurring problems.
• Support audits and regulations: Provide information when auditors or regulators ask for it.
• Follow controls: Make sure processes are being followed correctly and risks are identified.
• Enter and maintain data accurately.
