Job Summary

Reveille Technologies is looking for an experienced Cognos & SSRS Reporting Developer with 5+ years of relevant experience in BI reporting, Cognos 11, SSRS, SQL, and Informer. The candidate will work closely with business users and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, develop and enhance reports, and provide effective reporting solutions.

The role requires strong technical reporting skills along with excellent communication and client interaction capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain Cognos 11 and SSRS reports based on business requirements.
• Develop and maintain Cognos Framework Manager packages.
• Create and optimize Cognos queries and reports.
• Develop and maintain SSRS reports using SQL queries.
• Schedule reports and queries for automated execution and email distribution.
• Develop Informer queries and reports using data from Naviga Ad.
• Understand business requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
• Interact directly with business users/clients for requirement elicitation and clarification.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues and enhance existing reports.
• Evaluate and recommend alternative reporting tools where appropriate, including potential replacements for Cognos.
• Prepare and present written and oral status updates and reporting solutions.
• Keep management and stakeholders informed about project progress.
• Follow reporting development best practices related to performance, usability, accuracy, and maintainability.
• Work independently as an Individual Contributor.
• Perform other reporting-related responsibilities as required.

Mandatory Skills

• 5+ years of relevant BI/Reporting experience
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Cognos 11
• Strong experience in Cognos Framework Manager
• Strong experience with SSRS
• Strong SQL query-writing skills
• Hands-on experience with Informer queries
• Experience with report scheduling and email distribution
• Experience in client/business requirement elicitation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently as an Individual Contributor

Good to Have

• Power BI reporting experience
• Knowledge of SQL Server
• Knowledge of Oracle

• Experience with other BI/reporting tools

• Experience evaluating or migrating from legacy reporting platforms
• IBM Cognos Designer Certification
