Job Summary

This hybrid day shift role seeks a seasoned Lead Developer with six to ten years of experience to design and implement robust services using Swagger Open API Rest API TypeScript and Nestjs for life and annuities insurance solutions. The role focuses on building secure scalable platforms that streamline insurance operations while improving customer outcomes and supporting the company mission of delivering reliable financial protection.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services using Nestjs TypeScript and Rest API to support core life and annuities insurance processing and customer facing capabilities.

• Architect modular service layers that leverage Swagger and Open API specifications to ensure consistent interface contracts across underwriting policy servicing billing and claims workflows.

• Develop and refine Rest API endpoints that optimize performance reliability and security for high volume insurance transactions while maintaining clear and accurate documentation.

• Coordinate hybrid collaboration with product owners business analysts and quality engineers to translate complex life and annuities requirements into practical technical solutions.

• Guide code quality by defining standards for TypeScript Nestjs structure unit testing patterns and secure coding practices that align with enterprise policies for financial data protection.

• Review and refactor existing insurance application services to improve maintainability scalability and response times while reducing operational risk and production incidents.

• Integrate external insurance partner systems and internal platforms through well designed Rest API interfaces that support flexible policy administration and regulatory reporting needs.

• Optimize data flows and error handling within microservices and backend components to minimize transaction failures and ensure accurate premium benefit and policy status calculations.

• Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to define deployment strategies logging practices and observability metrics that enhance system resilience and operational transparency.

• Mentor team members on effective use of Swagger Open API and Rest API design principles so that new features remain consistent intuitive and easy to consume by dependent applications.

• Implement security and compliance controls within services that respect privacy rules and insurance regulations while supporting secure authentication authorization and audit tracking.

• Coordinate defect analysis and performance tuning efforts to ensure that policy lifecycle events quotes and claims processes run reliably for customers and operations teams.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by proposing technical enhancements and automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and accelerate delivery of insurance products.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in TypeScript and Nestjs with proven experience building production grade backend services for complex transactional environments.

• Show deep hands on experience with Swagger and Open API including authoring maintaining and reviewing specifications that drive contract first API development.

• Apply strong expertise in Rest API design including resource modeling pagination error handling versioning and security patterns suitable for financial and insurance domains.

• Bring solid domain knowledge in life and annuities insurance covering policy lifecycle product rules premium calculations benefits structures and regulatory considerations.

• Utilize experience in hybrid work models to collaborate effectively across locations balancing in person communication with remote coordination tools and practices.

• Employ strong problem solving skills to diagnose system issues analyze root causes and implement corrective actions that improve reliability and user satisfaction.
