Cobol Developer

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, debug, and enhance software applications.
• Participate in requirement gathering, system design, and technical discussions.
• Prepare technical specifications based on business requirements.
• Develop, test, and maintain applications using COBOL and related technologies.
• Support application enhancements, issue resolution, and production support activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and client-reported issues.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in COBOL development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and writing basic to intermediate SQL queries.
• Experience in application support, maintenance, and enhancement projects.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with HP NonStop/Tandem environment.
• Knowledge of HP Tandem utilities such as FUP, TACL, Pathway, and Batchcom.
• Experience with C++.

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
