CNC Turning 3D Programmer

Role & responsibilities

• Develop CNC turning programs using 3D CAD/CAM software.
• Study and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications.
• Prepare CNC programs for turning, facing, boring, grooving, threading, drilling, and profiling operations.
• Generate tool paths using Mastercam, NX, or equivalent CAM software.
• Select suitable cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, and machining parameters.
• Generate and verify CNC programs using G-code and M-code.
• Perform program simulation and collision detection before machining.
• Optimize machining cycles, tool paths, and cutting parameters.
• Plan machining sequences, workholding, and component setups.
• Support machine operators during setup and first-piece machining.
• Troubleshoot CNC programming and machining issues.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per drawing specifications.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams to maintain product quality and timely delivery.

Preferred Experience

Experience in CNC turning programming and precision machining of aerospace, defence, and engineering components is preferred.
