About this role
- Prepare nesting layouts for sheet metal plates and structural components.
- Generate CNC cutting programs for Laser, Plasma and Oxy-Fuel cutting machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Optimize material utilization and minimize scrap and material wastage.
- Work with CAD/CAM nesting software such as SigmaNEST, Lantek, ProNest, Metalix or equivalent.
- Understand DXF, DWG and other production file formats.
- Verify plate thickness, material grade, dimensions, cutting sequence and tolerances.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Planning and Quality departments.
- Ensure correct part identification, marking and traceability.
- Resolve cutting program errors and support production troubleshooting.
- Maintain nesting reports, material consumption records and scrap reports.
- Follow OEM quality standards, production schedules and safety procedures.
