Cloud Security Engineer, Specialist

Job Summary

Designs, implements, and manages cloud security and Identity Access Management (IAM) solutions across Azure, GCP, and OCI. Ensures secure access, governance, threat protection, compliance, and risk mitigation through identity controls, monitoring, vulnerability management, and security automation. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to strengthen and continuously enhance cloud security posture.

Responsibilities

• Implements, and deploys security cloud platforms to support and mitigate security threats, risks and technology vulnerabilities. Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.
• Provides intermediate level technical support and monitors security technologies efficiency through the use of monitoring tools and applications. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of cloud software and infrastructure platforms.
• Develops technical standards, testing, log analysis and vulnerability assessments; evaluating and recommending on procedures used to mitigate risks.
• Trains and mentors staff and IT project teams, providing guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department.
• Administers systems by actively managing patching, routine maintenance and backups to include the scheduling and execution of related tasks. Evaluating system performance and capacity in a large distributed infrastructure environment
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity, or IT security, with hands-on expertise in securing AWS and Azure environments.
• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in cloud development, security architecture, and integrating IAM and security tools across cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks, best practices and compliance requirements.
• Experience in implementing security controls, intrusion detection and vulnerability assessments in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP and OCI, (a combination of Azure and GCP/OCI is highly preferred)
• Expertise in security monitoring, risk assessment and incident response for cloud-based infrastructures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex security issues.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate security concepts effectively.
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages for security operations is a plus.
