About this role
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and operate Azure compute, storage, backup, recovery, monitoring, and shared infrastructure services within subscriptions and network boundaries.
Integrate infrastructure workloads with centrally managed network services and raise connectivity, DNS, firewall, routing, private-endpoint, or hybrid-connectivity requirements to the central cloud team.
Configure and operate Microsoft Entra ID integration, managed identities, Azure role-based access control, privileged access, Key Vault integration, and least-privilege controls.
Build and maintain reusable Terraform or Bicep modules, automated deployment pipelines, source-control practices, code reviews, and release controls using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, diagnostics, patching, capacity management, backup, disaster recovery, and availability practices aligned with approved service objectives.
Troubleshoot compute, storage, operating-system, backup, monitoring, and infrastructure incidents; coordinate network-related diagnosis with the central cloud team; and track corrective and preventive actions through completion.
Apply approved security baselines, Azure Policy, tagging, cost controls, and infrastructure standards across supported environments.
Create and maintain infrastructure diagrams, build documentation, operational runbooks, support procedures, and service ownership records.
Collaboration and operational responsibilities:
Participate in cloud architecture and design reviews, identify risks and dependencies, and implement approved technical patterns.
Work with application, platform, data, security, the central cloud team, and service-management teams to deliver production-ready workloads.
Support incident, problem, change, release, and operational acceptance processes for business-critical services.
Provide compute, storage, resilience, monitoring, backup, recovery, and automation guidance to Cloud Platform Engineers and workload teams.
Participate in production support, major incident support, and planned change activities in accordance with the applicable support model.
Your Profile: -
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4–6 years of hands-on experience engineering and operating cloud infrastructure, preferably in Azure enterprise environments.
Demonstrated experience delivering production infrastructure through automation and infrastructure-as-code rather than manual configuration.
Experience supporting business-critical workloads, handling incidents and changes, and working within IT service-management and change-control processes.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across global application, security, and operations teams and manage multiple priorities.
Skills required: -
Strong hands-on knowledge of compute, storage and networking. Preferred Azure experience includes Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Machine Scale Sets, Storage Accounts, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and platform services.
Proficiency in cloud networking, including virtual networks, network security groups, user-defined routes, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Load Balancer, Private Link, DNS, VPN, and ExpressRoute concepts.
Practical experience with Terraform or Bicep, PowerShell or Azure CLI, source control, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure role-based access control, managed identities, Key Vault, policy, security posture management, and network segmentation.
Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts, dashboards, diagnostics, availability monitoring, and operational troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of Linux and Windows administration, cloud governance, resilience, disaster recovery, performance, and cost optimization.
Experience with Visual Studio Code, Git repositories, Microsoft Visio or draw.io/Lucidchart for platform architecture, deployment flows, and integration diagrams.
Certificates: -
Required: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), or equivalent cloud administration certification.
Additional / Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700), Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400), HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate, or an equivalent infrastructure automation certification.
