Role Overview We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with 4+ years of experience and strong Datadog expertise to design and operate enterprise observability for a marquee enterprise client. The role covers monitoring, logging, APM, and alerting across cloud-native environments, with a focus on building a scalable, well-governed observability practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Datadog monitoring across cloud infrastructure and applications
• Build dashboards, monitors, SLOs, and alerting strategies aligned to service ownership
• Implement log management pipelines, indexing strategies, and log-based metrics
• Deploy and configure Datadog agents across VMs, containers, and Kubernetes clusters
• Instrument applications with APM and distributed tracing
• Manage Datadog integrations with AWS / Azure / OCI and CI/CD tooling
• Drive tagging standards, cost governance, and usage optimization within Datadog
• Automate Datadog configuration using Terraform (Datadog provider) or APIs

Required Skills

• 4+ years of overall cloud/DevOps engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Datadog - monitors, dashboards, log management, APM, and agent deployment
• Experience monitoring Kubernetes and containerized workloads
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS / Azure / OCI)
• Scripting skills (Python / Bash) and familiarity with Datadog APIs
• Experience managing observability-as-code (Terraform Datadog provider preferred)
• Understanding of SRE concepts - SLIs/SLOs, alert fatigue reduction, incident response workflows
