Role & responsibilities

• Knowledge and practical skills in wound assessment and appropriate dressing selection.
• Proper preparation of the wound and maintenance of aseptic technique during dressing procedures.
• Application of surgical dressings to protect wounds from contamination and external trauma.
• Selection and application of appropriate advanced wound care products based on wound condition.
• Secure fixation of dressings while ensuring patient comfort and skin protection.
• Monitoring the wound for signs of infection, exudate, bleeding, skin irritation, and delayed healing.
• Proper removal and replacement of dressings while minimizing trauma to the wound and surrounding skin.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices during wound care.
• Appropriate documentation of wound condition, dressing procedure, and patient response.
