This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Clinical Quality Coordinator based in United States.
This role supports clinical quality and performance improvement through accurate, reliable, and timely healthcare data management. You will be responsible for identifying relevant patient populations, reviewing clinical records, and compiling data for submission to national quality databases. The position combines clinical knowledge, data analysis, documentation, and process improvement in a collaborative healthcare environment. You will work closely with nursing, health information management, informatics, physicians, and other hospital teams to ensure data integrity and actionable insights. The role also contributes to identifying improvement opportunities and developing solutions that can enhance clinical processes and outcomes. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, particularly when working across clinical and administrative functions. This is a full-time remote opportunity offering meaningful exposure to quality measurement, healthcare analytics, and continuous improvement.
Accountabilities:: Identify patient populations that meet program inclusion and exclusion criteria using established protocols and methodologies.
Review medical records and collect accurate, relevant patient information for quality programs and national databases.
Ensure data is compiled, documented, entered, and maintained accurately and within required timelines and caseload protocols.
Participate in morbidity and mortality conferences and other relevant meetings to support reliable identification and documentation of adverse events.
Apply standardized definitions and methodologies and participate in inter-rater reliability testing to maintain consistency and data quality.
Identify opportunities to streamline and improve data collection, review, and reporting processes.
Use appropriate software applications and data resources to collect, analyze, and present clinical quality information.
Analyze quality data and collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and other stakeholders to develop solutions that improve processes and performance.
Build effective working relationships across nursing, health information management, informatics, surgical teams, and administrative functions.
Contact patients and families by telephone or written communication when required for quality database activities.
Serve as an internal and external educational resource by developing training materials and delivering presentations related to database processes and quality initiatives.
Participate in required program teleconferences, national conferences, and other quality-related activities.
Complete required training associated with applicable national quality databases and maintain proficiency in relevant methodologies.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Respiratory Therapy with at least three years of hospital experience; alternatively, a Diploma or Associate’s degree in Nursing or Respiratory Therapy with three years of hospital-based quality outcomes experience.
Candidates with a Master’s degree may qualify with at least one year of hospital experience.
Three years of healthcare experience with an emphasis on process improvement activities and productivity systems is preferred.
At least one year of experience with clinical chart review and abstraction is preferred.
Strong understanding of clinical quality, healthcare data collection, documentation, and performance improvement principles.
Ability to accurately interpret medical records and apply inclusion/exclusion criteria and standardized quality definitions.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate data into practical improvement opportunities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and other software used to collect, analyze, and present data.
Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn specialized quality and database applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clinical, administrative, and physician stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, diplomacy, negotiation, and alignment-building skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Flexibility, assertiveness, sound judgment, and professionalism when interacting with colleagues and stakeholders at different organizational levels.
Ability to successfully complete required national quality database training.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including extended periods of standing and walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, pushing up to 50 pounds, and performing required dexterity-related tasks.
