Classical Dance Teacher

1. Dance Teaching & Training

• Teach classical dance techniques according to the students age and skill level.
• Train students in basic steps, postures, hand gestures (mudras), expressions (abhinaya), rhythm and movement.
• Teach appropriate classical dance repertoire and compositions.
• Ensure students understand the theory, history and cultural significance of the dance form.
• Conduct regular practice sessions and progressively develop students' skills.

2. Student Development

• Identify students with interest and aptitude in classical dance.
• Encourage confidence, discipline, creativity and stage presence.
• Provide individual attention and additional practice where required.
• Monitor students' progress and maintain appropriate records.
• Motivate students to participate in competitions, performances and cultural events.

3. School Events & Performances

• Prepare students for:
• Annual Day
• School cultural programmes
• Independence Day/Republic Day programmes
• Teachers' Day
• Festivals and special celebrations
• Inter-school competitions
• Assemblies and other school events
• Choreograph performances according to the theme and occasion.
• Coordinate costumes, formations, music and stage requirements with the concerned teams.
• Conduct rehearsals and ensure students are performance-ready.

4. Curriculum & Lesson Planning

• Prepare structured lesson plans and yearly dance plans.
• Plan age-appropriate learning outcomes for different grades.
