Civil & Structural Engineering Pod Lead

About the role
Lead a pod of 5 to 10 trainers creating terminal-based civil and structural engineering tasks for AI training and evaluation. Ensure engineering correctness, reproducibility and reliable grading.

Responsibilities
• Review structural and geotechnical models, load cases, simulation data, solutions and automated tests.
• Validate structural analysis, FEA, earthquake and wind engineering, geotechnical, hydraulic and hydrological workflows.
• Verify units, equilibrium, boundary conditions, load combinations, design codes, convergence and safety factors.
• Review graders for meaningful outputs and prevent bypassed engineering analysis.
• Mentor trainers, provide actionable feedback, allocate work and maintain quality standards.

Requirements
• Ph.D., postdoctoral experience or equivalent advanced experience in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong Python, C/C++, Julia, Fortran or MATLAB/Octave skills, with Linux proficiency.
• Expertise in structural analysis, FEA, earthquake engineering, geotechnical or hydraulic/hydrological modeling.
• Working knowledge of ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, Eurocodes or IS codes.
• Experience reviewing simulations or research and leading small technical teams, with strong written communication.

Preferred
OpenSees, Code_Aster, CalculiX, FEniCS, EPANET, SWMM, HEC-RAS or MODFLOW; SAP2000, ETABS, PLAXIS, STAAD.Pro, Docker, Git, automated testing or AI evaluation experience.
