ROLE

The Civil Site Engineer will be responsible for managing and supervising day-to-day civil construction activities at the assigned project site.

The role requires a hands-on and experienced professional who can independently monitor site execution, coordinate with contractors and internal teams, ensure quality standards, and support the timely completion of the project.

The candidate must have strong experience in building construction and should be capable of managing site activities related to RCC works, structural works, masonry, finishing, and other civil construction activities.

A key responsibility of the role will be to ensure that all construction activities are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Site Execution & Construction Management

• Supervise and manage day-to-day civil construction activities at the project site.
• Ensure execution of work as per approved drawings, specifications, and construction standards.
• Monitor RCC, structural, masonry, plastering, flooring, finishing, and other civil works.
• Ensure proper sequencing and smooth execution of construction activities.
• Identify site-related challenges and coordinate with the concerned teams for timely resolution.
• Take ownership of the assigned site and ensure smooth day-to-day project execution.

2. Site Supervision & Progress Monitoring

• Monitor daily construction progress and ensure work is completed as per the project schedule.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, supervisors, and site workers.
• Ensure optimum deployment of manpower, materials, machinery, and other resources.
• Track planned versus actual progress and highlight delays to the Project Manager.
• Support the implementation of corrective and recovery actions wherever required.
• Prepare and maintain daily progress updates and site reports.

3. Quality Control

• Ensure that all civil works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Inspect ongoing construction activities and identify any deviations or quality issues.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
• Ensure timely rectification of defects and non-conforming work.
• Monitor workmanship and maintain high standards across all site activities.

4. Drawings & Technical Coordination

• Study and understand architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
• Ensure site execution is carried out as per approved and latest drawings.
• Coordinate with consultants and internal teams regarding drawing clarifications.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
• Ensure necessary approvals and clarifications are obtained before execution of critical activities.

5. Contractor & Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors for smooth execution of site activities.
• Monitor contractor performance, manpower deployment, and work progress.
• Ensure contractors follow approved specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding material requirements and site deliveries.
• Escalate delays, quality concerns, or resource issues to the concerned management team.

6. Material & Resource Management

• Monitor the availability and utilisation of construction materials at the site.
• Coordinate with the Store and Procurement teams for timely material requirements.
• Ensure materials received at the site are as per project specifications.
• Minimise material wastage through proper planning and monitoring.
• Support effective utilisation of manpower and machinery.

7. Safety & Site Compliance

• Ensure that civil construction activities are carried out in compliance with site safety requirements.
• Coordinate with the Safety team to maintain safe working conditions.
• Ensure contractors and workers follow applicable safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe site conditions and report them for immediate corrective action.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and discipline at the work site.

8. Measurement & Documentation

• Assist in checking and verifying site measurements and quantities.
• Ensure work executed is in line with BOQ and approved drawings.
• Maintain records of daily progress, manpower deployment, material consumption, and completed activities.
• Support the preparation of site reports and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with Planning and Billing teams by providing accurate site information and measurements.

9. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with the Project Manager, Planning, QA/QC, Billing, Procurement, Store, and MEP teams.
• Ensure proper coordination between civil and MEP activities.
• Support smooth handover of work fronts between different project teams.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide updates on site progress and challenges.
• Ensure timely communication of critical site issues to management.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in Civil Engineering and Building Construction.
• Strong experience in managing and supervising building project sites.
• Experience in RCC, structural works, masonry, plastering, flooring, and finishing works.
• Experience in residential, commercial, institutional, or large building construction projects will be preferred.
• Ability to independently manage day-to-day site construction activities.
• Strong experience in coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, BOQ, and site measurements.
• Candidates willing to be deployed at project sites in Prayagraj or Ahmedabad will be preferred.

EDUCATION

• B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.

OR

• Diploma in Civil Engineering with relevant experience in building construction projects.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project, or Primavera will be an added advantage.
