Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to manage and execute civil infrastructure projects across the organization. The candidate will be based at the Ahmedabad Corporate Office and will oversee project planning, design coordination, site execution, contractor management, quality, cost control, and project handover.

Candidates with strong experience in greenfield projects, new manufacturing plant setup, and industrial infrastructure development will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1. Civil Project Planning & Execution

• Plan, coordinate, and execute civil construction projects from initial planning and design review through execution and handover.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and milestones to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, workmanship, and adherence to approved drawings.

2. Greenfield Projects & Plant Infrastructure

• Manage civil work for greenfield manufacturing plants, new factory setups, and industrial facilities.
• Oversee site development, land grading, excavation, foundations, RCC structures, flooring, roads, drainage, and boundary walls.
• Coordinate construction of production buildings, warehouses, utility blocks, administrative buildings, and other plant infrastructure.
• Ensure civil infrastructure is aligned with plant layout, machinery foundation requirements, and utility installations.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and utility teams for integrated project execution.

3. Design & Technical Coordination

• Review civil and structural drawings, BOQs, specifications, and construction plans.
• Coordinate with consultants for architectural, structural, and infrastructure designs.
• Verify site execution against approved drawings and technical specifications.
• Resolve site-level technical issues and manage design changes in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

4. Contractor & Vendor Management

• Identify, coordinate, and monitor civil contractors, consultants, and service providers.
• Review technical and commercial quotations, BOQs, and work orders.
• Monitor contractor manpower, equipment deployment, productivity, and work quality.
• Verify work progress and measurements for contractor billing and certification.
• Ensure contractors comply with project schedules, quality requirements, and safety standards.

5. Quality, Cost & Project Control

• Ensure construction work meets approved specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.
• Monitor project expenditure, material consumption, and cost variations.
• Identify project delays, execution risks, and cost overruns, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure appropriate inspection and testing of construction materials, concrete, structural work, and other civil activities.
• Maintain project documentation, progress reports, measurement records, and handover documents.

6. Safety & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure safe execution of construction activities and compliance with applicable safety requirements.
• Coordinate implementation of site safety practices, including work-at-height precautions, excavation safety, and permit requirements.
• Ensure applicable statutory approvals and construction-related compliances are coordinated with relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor housekeeping and safe working practices at project sites.

7. Project Monitoring & Reporting

• Prepare project progress reports, budget updates, risk assessments, and management presentations.
• Coordinate with plant teams and corporate stakeholders to resolve project-related issues.
• Conduct periodic site reviews and track project milestones.
• Ensure timely completion, commissioning support, and handover of civil infrastructure projects.
