Civil Engineer (Viaduct) - Metro Projects

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor elevated viaduct construction activities including foundations, pile caps, piers, pier caps, and superstructure works.
• Coordinate execution of pile foundation, pile cap, pier, pier cap, bearing, girder/U-girder/segment erection and related structural works.
• Check construction activities against approved IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, ITPs, and technical specifications.
• Monitor reinforcement, shuttering/formwork, embedments, concrete pouring, curing, grouting, and finishing works.
• Supervise precast segment/U-girder erection and launching activities using launching girder, cranes, or other approved erection systems.
• Ensure proper line, level, alignment, dimensions, and geometry of piers, pier caps, girders, and viaduct superstructure.
• Coordinate with survey, QA/QC, safety, planning, subcontractor, and design teams to resolve site issues and maintain construction progress.
• Inspect reinforcement and formwork before concrete placement and coordinate required inspections with the QA/QC team and client/consultant.
• Monitor concrete works including slump, temperature, cube sampling, pouring sequence, vibration, and curing as per project specifications.
• Verify quantities and assist in preparation of BOQ measurements, quantity reconciliation, DPR/WPR, progress reports, and site records.
• Coordinate with the casting yard for availability, quality, transportation, and delivery of precast viaduct components.
• Monitor erection activities and ensure compliance with approved lifting plans, erection methodology, temporary works, and safety requirements.
• Identify construction issues, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure timely closure of NCRs, observations, and inspection comments.
• Coordinate with utilities, traffic management, adjacent structures, and other agencies where required for execution of viaduct works.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with DMRC specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, HSE requirements, and project schedule.
• Maintain daily site records and coordinate with the planning team for weekly and monthly progress monitoring.
