Civil and Structural Design Engineer - 6+ years of experience

Role & responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural engineering activities for Industrial (Ferrous and Non-Ferrous) plant projects.
• Understand client requirements through project discussions, data collection, and site visits.
• Support overall project engineering, design engineering, scheduling, and procurement activities.
• Prepare technical proposals and estimate engineering man-hours for new projects.
• Develop cost estimates for construction works.
• Prepare enquiry documents for suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors.
• Interpret and review engineering and assignment drawings.
• Develop and review technical reports, including:
• Concept Notes
• Feasibility Study Reports
• Detailed Project Reports (DPR)
• Prepare and review technical specifications and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Perform checking and review of RCC and structural designs, including GFC drawings.
• Prepare and review design calculations and design documents.
• Act as the Lead Engineer for assigned projects.
• Work collaboratively across project teams and undertake site visits as required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputed institute.
• Experience: 9 to 15 years in civil and structural engineering for industrial projects, preferably in Ferrous / Non-Ferrous sectors.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural design codes and standards such as:
• IS , ACI, AISC, ASCE, BS EN
• Experience in project engineering, design engineering, project scheduling, and procurement coordination.
• Capability to prepare and review design calculations, technical specifications, BOQs, and engineering reports.
• Proficiency in RCC and structural design review.
• Working knowledge of Navisworks.
• Hands-on experience with structural analysis and design software such as:
• STAAD.Pro
• ETABS
• SAP2000
• Strong technical, analytical, and coordination skills.
• Mobile and agile, with willingness to travel for client interactions and site assignments.
