    About this role

    About Swarna Bharat TV

Swarna Bharat TV is a mission-led creative platform telling precise, high-quality stories on Bharat's history, culture, spirituality, and knowledge systems. Our YouTube channel is live with RashtraGaatha, and we're rolling out multiple original shows across formats. We combine research-first storytelling with cinematic execution and are preparing our originals for wider distribution, including OTT.

    The Role

We're hiring a Cinematographer (DOP) with strong Video Editing skills to lead the visual execution of our original content.

This is primarily a cinematography role. You will be responsible for planning and executing shoots, camera operation, lighting, composition, visual storytelling, and maintaining a consistent cinematic look across our content.

Video editing will be a secondary responsibility, where you will support the post-production process, create edits when required, and help shape the final story.

The ideal candidate has a strong cinematic eye, understands storytelling through visuals, and can confidently take ownership of a shoot from pre-production to footage handover.

    What you'll do1) Cinematography & Production — Primary Responsibility

    • Plan and execute shoots based on scripts, creative briefs, and production requirements.

    • Operate professional cameras and confidently manage camera settings, lenses, exposure, focus, framing, and movement.

    • Design and execute lighting setups for studio, interview, documentary, and cinematic shoots.

    • Decide camera angles, lens choices, compositions, movements, and coverage according to the story.

    • Create cinematic B-roll, establishing shots, inserts, details, and atmospheric footage.

    • Work closely with the Creative Producer, Director, and Production team during shoots.

    • Ensure complete and usable coverage is captured for the edit.

    • Maintain consistency in visual language, lighting, colour, and camera style across episodes.

    • Manage on-set camera, lighting, and basic production requirements.

    • Ensure proper footage backup and data management after shoots.

    2) Visual Storytelling

    • Translate scripts and creative concepts into strong visual storytelling.

    • Understand how framing, lighting, lenses, camera movement, and depth contribute to the narrative.

    • Develop a cinematic visual language appropriate for historical, cultural, spiritual, and documentary content.

    • Suggest creative shots and visual approaches during pre-production.

    • Collaborate with the creative team to improve the visual quality of each project.

    3) Video Editing — Secondary Responsibility

    • Edit selected long-form and short-form content when required.

    • Assemble footage into structured and engaging sequences.

    • Support story flow, pacing, transitions, and basic narrative structure.

    • Create basic teasers, cutdowns, and social media edits.

    • Add basic music, sound design, captions, and graphics where required.

    • Make basic colour corrections and ensure visual consistency.

    • Implement feedback and deliver revisions within deadlines.

    4) Post-Production Support

    • Organize and manage camera footage properly after every shoot.

    • Maintain clean project folders, file naming, backups, and media organization.

    • Coordinate with editors, motion designers, AI artists, and other post-production teams.

    • Provide clear footage handovers and communicate important production notes.

    • Review rough cuts when required and provide cinematography-related feedback.

    5) Collaboration & Planning

    • Participate in pre-production meetings and understand the script before every shoot.

    • Prepare shot lists, equipment requirements, and basic lighting plans.

    • Coordinate with the production team to ensure smooth shoot execution.

    • Work closely with writers, producers, editors, motion designers, and AI artists.

    • Take ownership of the visual quality and technical execution of assigned projects.

    Must-haves

    • 2–6 years of professional experience as a Cinematographer/DOP.

    • Strong portfolio demonstrating cinematic cinematography and visual storytelling.

    • Hands-on experience with professional cameras, lenses, lighting, and on-set equipment.

    • Strong understanding of composition, exposure, lighting, lens selection, camera movement, and framing.

    • Ability to independently plan and execute a shoot.

    • Strong understanding of documentary, YouTube, branded, or narrative-style production.

    • Good understanding of colour correction and maintaining visual consistency.

    • Working knowledge of Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

    • Ability to handle basic to intermediate video editing when required.

    • Strong project organization and footage-management skills.

    • Comfortable working on-site in Vashi, Navi Mumbai.

    • Reliable, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

    • Basic After Effects knowledge.

    • Basic understanding of AI filmmaking and AI-generated visual workflows.

    • Understanding of YouTube content, retention, and digital storytelling.
