Chief Operating Officer/Business Head

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & P&L Leadership

• Own the complete P&L and overall performance of the food business.
• Develop and execute short-term and long-term business strategies aligned with the Group's vision.
• Drive revenue growth, EBITDA improvement, profitability and sustainable business expansion.
• Prepare annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts and business performance reviews.
• Identify new revenue streams, formats, markets and growth opportunities.
• Establish measurable business KPIs and ensure disciplined execution against targets.

Operations Excellence

• Lead end-to-end operations across the food business and ensure consistent operational standards.
• Build scalable SOPs, systems and processes across locations/functions.
• Drive improvements in productivity, service levels, turnaround time and operational efficiency.
• Establish strong review mechanisms for revenue, costs, productivity, quality and customer experience.
• Ensure operational readiness for expansion and new business initiatives.

Business Growth & Expansion

• Develop and execute the expansion roadmap for the business.
• Evaluate new locations, formats, partnerships and business models based on commercial viability.
• Lead new unit/business launches from planning through stabilization.
• Identify opportunities for both organic and strategic growth.
• Build a scalable operating model capable of supporting aggressive yet profitable expansion.

Food Quality & Customer Experience

• Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, hygiene, safety and service.
• Establish robust quality-control and food-safety processes.
• Monitor customer feedback and translate insights into operational improvements.
• Work closely with relevant teams on menu/product innovation, pricing and customer preferences.
• Build a strong customer-centric culture across the organization.

Supply Chain & Cost Management

• Oversee procurement, sourcing, vendor management, inventory and supply-chain effectiveness.
• Optimize food cost, wastage, manpower cost and other operating expenses without compromising quality.
• Strengthen vendor partnerships and develop alternate sourcing strategies where required.
• Improve inventory planning and controls to minimize wastage and stock-related losses.
• Drive gross-margin and contribution-margin improvement initiatives.

Sales, Marketing & Revenue Growth

• Partner with marketing and commercial teams to develop initiatives that increase footfalls, customer acquisition and repeat business.
• Evaluate pricing, product mix, promotions and channel strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
• Use business and customer data to identify growth opportunities.
• Develop strategies to improve brand positioning and market penetration.

Financial & Performance Management

• Monitor revenue, EBITDA, margins, food cost, manpower cost and other critical business metrics.
• Implement rigorous MIS and management review systems.
• Work closely with finance teams on budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning and profitability improvement.
• Take timely corrective actions based on business-performance trends.

People & Organization Leadership

• Build, mentor and lead a high-performing senior management and operations team.
• Create clear accountability across functions and operating units.
• Develop second-line leadership and succession pipelines.
• Establish a performance-oriented culture with strong ownership and execution discipline.
• Ensure appropriate manpower planning and organizational structures to support future growth.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to all applicable FSSAI, food safety, hygiene, labour, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Strengthen internal controls and operating governance.
• Ensure business operations comply with organizational policies and applicable legal requirements.

Candidate Profile

• MBA / PGDM or equivalent management qualification preferred.
• 1522+ years of overall professional experience, with substantial leadership experience in the Food / F&B / Food Services industry.
• Demonstrated experience as a COO, Business Head, CEO, Operations Head, Regional Business Head or equivalent senior leadership position.
• Strong track record of handling P&L ownership and large-scale/multi-unit operations.
• Proven experience in scaling a food/F&B business and improving profitability.
• Strong understanding of food operations, supply chain, procurement, food costs, customer experience and business expansion.
• Experience managing large cross-functional teams and senior leadership stakeholders.
• Exposure to technology-led operational improvement and data-driven decision-making will be advantageous.
