Chief Executive Officer

Role Description The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at ASTRA - Associação das Tradings de Santa Catarina will provide strategic leadership, oversee organizational performance, and ensure alignment with the association’s mission and goals. This full-time, on-site role based in Coimbatore involves directing finance and operations, guiding business planning, and driving sales and member engagement initiatives. The CEO will collaborate with the board, develop and implement long-term strategies, and represent the association with key stakeholders, partners, and regulatory bodies. Daily responsibilities include monitoring KPIs, managing senior staff, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards. The CEO will also foster a culture of transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement, while maintaining strong relationships with trading companies and other industry participants.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Finance and Operations Management, with the ability to oversee budgets, financial reporting, and efficient organizational processes.
• Experience in Business Planning and Strategic Planning, including setting long-term goals, developing action plans, and managing organizational growth.
• Demonstrated success in Sales and business development, with the ability to build partnerships, increase membership or revenue, and strengthen market presence.
• Proven leadership and people management skills, including mentoring senior leaders, managing cross-functional teams, and driving accountability.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities, with fluency in written and spoken English; additional local languages are an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and performance improvement.
• Experience in trade, export/import, or association management is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field; a master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
