About this role
Role & responsibilities
- Set MEP design standards and engineering best practices
- Give final approval on HVAC, power, lighting, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection designs
- Review load calculations, equipment selections, single-line diagrams, and shop drawings
- Oversee MEP design from concept through construction documents
- Run BIM and clash-detection coordination across disciplines
- Review RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Supervise installation quality, testing, and balancing on site
- Lead commissioning of HVAC, electrical, BMS, fire alarm, and plumbing systems
- Manage handover documents, as-builts, O&M manuals, and warranties
- Lead and mentor MEP engineers, designers, and site engineers
- Prepare and review cost estimates, BOQs, and tender evaluations
- Select and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
- Control budgets and track schedule and cost variances
- Ensure compliance with codes and standards (NBC, NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, local authorities)
- Enforce site safety, including electrical safety, lockout/tagout, and work at height
- Lead root-cause analysis for failures and non-conformances
- Support energy efficiency and green certifications (LEED, IGBC, GRIHA)
- Advise leadership on technical risk, bids, and new technologies
