CHIEF Credit & RISK Officer

1. Credit Policy & Governance (Gold Loan Focus)

- Own and continuously update Gold Loan Credit Policy, LTV norms, valuation process, auction policy as per RBI Master Directions for NBFCs

- Define gold purity appraisal standards, branch appraiser certification, re-appraisal and surprise valuation checks

- Approve deviations, high-value loans > threshold, and monitor top 100 exposures

- Design scheme-wise risk pricing - daily interest, monthly interest, bullet repayment schemes

2. Risk Management - Enterprise & Operational

- Lead Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) - Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Market Risk (Gold Price), Liquidity Risk

- Create Gold Price Volatility framework - LTV monitoring, margin call, top-up / part-payment triggers when gold price drops

- Fraud Risk Control - Spurious gold, collusion, theft, proxy borrowing - Implement maker-checker, CCTV review protocol, weight & purity audit

- Lead Risk Committee, ALM and Board updates with risk dashboard - Portfolio at Risk, NPA movement, auction loss/gain

3. Portfolio Monitoring & Early Warning

- Daily monitoring of AUM, overdue, NPA bucket-wise (30+, 60+, 90+), auction pipeline, interest collection

- Build Early Warning System for branches with high spurious cases, high NPA, high auction, high staff turnover

- State-wise, branch-wise, appraiser-wise risk grading and corrective action

- Control Rollover / Re-pledge risk and ensure genuine customer assessment

4. Audit, Compliance & Collections

- Lead Gold Audit team - Branch Gold Verification Audit, Loan Audit, Cash Audit

- Ensure 100% compliance with RBI guidelines on Gold Loan - KYC, LTV at disbursement and throughout tenure, auction process & transparency

- Drive Collection & Auction Strategy - Notice process, auction calendar, minimizing auction losses, maintaining auction profit pool

- Coordinate with Internal Audit, Statutory Audit, RBI Inspection & closure of observations

5. Team & Systems

- Build and lead Credit, Risk, Gold Inspection and Collections team across 6 states

- Drive digitization - Gold loan LOS/LMS with automated LTV check, e-KYC, valuation machine integration, risk analytics

- Train 500+ branch staff on gold appraisal, fraud identification, RBI compliance and customer handlingRole & responsibilities

Education: CA / MBA / http://M.Com or Graduate with relevant experience. Certification in Risk (FRM, PRM) is a plus

Skills: Strong analytical ability, eye for detail to catch fraud, ability to say NO, leadership to manage large field team, fluency in Tamil, English, Hindi Telugu/Kannada preferred
