Chartered Accountant - Taxation

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Taxation professional to manage and support the organizations Direct and Indirect Tax compliances. The role involves TDS/TCS, Income Tax and GST compliances, statutory return filing, tax reconciliations, assessments, notices and related documentation.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of taxation laws, excellent numerical accuracy, and hands-on experience with Genius TDS, SAP ERP and MS Excel.

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct Taxation

• Manage day-to-day TDS/TCS compliance, including data preparation, verification and timely payment.
• Use Genius TDS software for processing, verification and filing of quarterly non-salary TDS returns, including Form 26Q and 27Q.
• Cross-verify monthly TDS data and ensure timely deposit within statutory timelines.
• Assist in handling Income Tax scrutiny assessments, departmental notices and appeal matters.
• Prepare and maintain required documentation and supporting data within prescribed timelines.
• Conduct annual Form 26AS reconciliation and identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in preparation of data and workings for the Tax Audit Report.
• Prepare and track statutory applications, including Section 17(2)(ii)(b) certificates, TDS refund applications and Section 281 clearances.
• Verify employee investment proofs and expense reimbursement documents during year-end tax assessment and Full & Final settlements.

2. Indirect Taxation GST

• Consolidate and verify GST data from various units and ensure timely compliance.
• Prepare and cross-verify GSTR-1 workings and GST liability.
• Support timely filing of GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B within applicable statutory timelines.
• Conduct monthly GST reconciliations, including Books vs. GSTR-2B and other relevant GST records.
• Carry out Gujarat GST reconciliation and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution of discrepancies.
• Assist in preparation of data and documentation for GST Annual Returns GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C.
• Assist in responding to GST departmental notices and other statutory requirements.
• Identify gaps in GST compliance and support corrective actions.

3. SAP & Taxation Systems

• Use SAP ERP for regular data extraction, validation and taxation-related reporting.
• Work with internal teams to develop and improve tax-related MIS and reports.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of data extracted from SAP and other systems.
• Support process improvements and automation initiatives within the Taxation function.

4. Coordination & Compliance

• Coordinate with internal Finance & Accounts teams, business units, tax consultants and statutory authorities, wherever required.
• Maintain proper records and documentation for all tax compliances, assessments and reconciliations.
• Monitor statutory due dates and ensure timely completion of all tax-related compliances.
• Keep updated with changes in applicable Income Tax, TDS, TCS and GST laws and regulations.
