Cell Maintenance- Engineering Support Specialist

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of cell manufacturing machines (coating, slitting, calendaring, winding, notching, assembly, formation & grading, etc.).
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure machines are in optimal working condition.
• Maintain maintenance logs and machine history records.

Troubleshooting & Repair

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in production equipment.
• Repair equipment with minimum downtime to ensure continuous production.
• Support calibration and testing of machine components.

Process & Equipment Improvement

• Identify recurring failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Suggest and execute modifications to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
• Work with the Process Engineering team to enhance machine performance.

Spare Parts & Inventory Management

• Monitor critical spare parts, tools, and consumables.
• Ensure availability of spares to avoid production delays.
• Coordinate with the purchase team for spare procurement.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain records such as PM checklists, breakdown reports, and equipment manuals.
• Follow maintenance SOPs, safety guidelines, and industry standards.
• Support internal and external audits (ISO/IATF where applicable).

CrossFunctional Coordination

• Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
• Support installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment.
• Train operators on basic machine handling and checks.

Safety & EHS

• Ensure all maintenance activities follow EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) procedures.
• Report safety incidents, near misses, and take corrective measures.
