Job Description :

The Senior Network Engineer is a core member of the network operations team. The role owns the technical

resolution of complex network and fiber incidents escalated from the Level 1 team, keeps services stable and

performing, and helps establish and improve operating procedures. The engineer also guides junior team members

and serves as a dependable technical contact for carriers, vendors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Incident ownership: Act as the technical escalation point for incidents raised by Level 1, diagnosing and

resolving complex faults across routing, switching, WAN and fiber connectivity.

• Root cause analysis: Lead investigations into major and repeat incidents, and put corrective and preventive

actions in place to reduce recurrence.

• Proactive monitoring: Use monitoring and alerting platforms to track network health, tune thresholds and act on

early signs of degradation before customers are affected.

• Carrier and vendor coordination: Raise faults with telecom carriers, OEM vendors and field teams, track

repairs, and confirm restoration within agreed timelines.

• Stakeholder communication: Give clear, timely updates to internal teams and customers during major

incidents, following the defined escalation matrix.

• Change and maintenance: Plan and carry out approved configuration changes, maintenance and upgrades,

with risk assessment and rollback plans.

• Documentation and process: Build and maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures, network diagrams

and knowledge articles to support consistent operations.

• Mentoring: Coach fresher engineers by reviewing their ticket handling and shift handovers, and building their

troubleshooting skills.

• Coverage and reporting: Contribute to shift coverage and quality handovers, and support service level and trend

reporting.
