About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Category Head - Food & Beverage to lead the growth and development of a high-potential category for a fast-growing consumer internet business.

The role will be responsible for owning the category P&L, growth strategy, assortment, supplier ecosystem, pricing, and overall business performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong category management experience along with demonstrated ability to build and scale businesses in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own the end-to-end P&L for the Food & Beverage category, including revenue, margins, contribution and profitability.

- Develop and execute the category strategy across assortment, pricing, promotions, sourcing and customer proposition.

- Identify and build new growth opportunities within the category based on consumer trends, market intelligence and competitive analysis.

- Own the category assortment and portfolio, ensuring the right mix of products, brands and price points.

- Build and manage relationships with brands, manufacturers, distributors and other strategic partners.

- Drive negotiations with suppliers and partners to improve commercial terms, margins and availability.

- Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Product, Finance and Operations teams to deliver category objectives.

- Develop category-level business plans, forecasts and growth initiatives and track performance against key metrics.

- Use data and consumer insights to identify opportunities for improving conversion, basket size, repeat purchases and category profitability.

- Lead strategic initiatives around new product launches, private labels, partnerships and category expansion, where relevant.

- Build and mentor a high-performing category team.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for candidates with:

- 10 - 15 years of overall experience, with significant experience in Category Management - Business - P&L roles.

- Strong experience in Food & Beverage, FMCG, E-commerce, Quick Commerce, D2C or Consumer Internet.

- Demonstrated experience of owning a category - business and driving revenue and profitability.

- Strong understanding of assortment, pricing, promotions, sourcing and vendor management.

- Excellent analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate data into business decisions.

- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

- Experience managing and developing teams.

- An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Background:

Candidates from organisations in E-commerce, Quick Commerce, FMCG, Food & Beverage, D2C and Consumer Internet would be relevant.
