Cashier Executive

Job Objective

To manage cash collection, billing transactions, and payment processing for domestic and international patients, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, proper documentation, and compliance with hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Handle cash collections and payment transactions for OPD, IPD, and other hospital services.
2. Manage international patient payments involving foreign currency, wherever permitted, and coordinate foreign exchange transactions through authorized channels.
3. Process payments through cash, credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and other approved payment modes.
4. Verify bills, receipts, deposits, refunds, and outstanding dues while ensuring accurate financial records.
5. Maintain daily cash registers, collection summaries, and shift-wise reconciliation reports.
6. Coordinate with the International Patient Services, Billing, Finance, and Accounts teams for payment-related queries and discrepancies.
7. Ensure accurate documentation of foreign currency transactions, exchange rates, and applicable conversion charges, as per organizational policy.
8. Handle patient and attendant queries regarding payments, receipts, deposits, and refunds professionally.
9. Ensure timely handover of cash and supporting documents to the concerned department.
10. Adhere to hospital cash-handling procedures, internal controls, audit requirements, and applicable foreign exchange regulations.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Experience in hospital cashiering, preferably in a multispecialty hospital.
• Knowledge of international patient billing and foreign currency handling.
• Basic understanding of foreign exchange conversion, exchange rates, and transaction documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and hospital billing / cashiering software.
• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and reconciliation skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with international patients.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and customer service orientation.
