About this role
Job Summary Synechron is seeking an accomplished Capital Markets to drive the design, delivery, and governance of capital markets technology initiatives. This role blends strategic technology leadership with hands-on delivery and requires oversight of cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions in a regulated financial services environment. The ideal candidate will combine deep domain awareness with strong architectural thinking, stakeholder management, and a track record of delivering complex technology programs that enable business growth and regulatory compliance.
Software Requirements
Required Skills (Essential) Strong experience with emerging technologies relevant to capital markets (e.g., blockchain concepts, AI-enabled analytics, data-driven solutions)
Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
Excellent knowledge of software architecture and design patterns
Proven track record in leading technology projects and managing cross-functional teams
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills Domain experience in capital markets, banking, or financial services
Certifications in relevant technologies or architecture (e.g., cloud, security, data analytics)
Familiarity with modern cloud platforms and infrastructure concepts
Experience with DevOps practices, automation, and CI/CD
Overall Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of capital markets technology initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies
Mentor and guide a high-performing team of engineers and analysts to achieve project goals
Identify, evaluate, and pilot new technology solutions to improve business processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with organizational strategy
Stay current with technology trends and industry developments; translate insights into actionable plans
Drive governance, risk, and compliance considerations across programs
Develop and maintain technology roadmaps; ensure alignment with business objectives
Manage relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders; ensure effective collaboration and delivery
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages (required and preferred) Essential: Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in enterprise systems (e.g., Java, Python, C#)
Preferred: Experience with additional languages for integration or analytics
Databases/Data Management Essential: Strong data modeling and management concepts; experience with relational databases and data governance
Preferred: NoSQL experience and data warehousing concepts
Cloud Technologies Essential: Understanding of cloud fundamentals and architecture
Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native design
Frameworks and Libraries Essential: Knowledge of architecture patterns and integration frameworks

Experience Requirements 6+ years of experience in software development and technology leadership
Proven track record delivering complex technology programs in capital markets or related domains
Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior members
Experience working with agile methodologies and stakeholder management
Domain experience in capital markets, banking, or financial services is preferred
Alternative pathways: extensive project leadership in related domains or relevant certifications
Day-to-Day Activities Define program scope, objectives, and milestones; maintain project roadmaps
Lead cross-functional teams across development, QA, operations, and product management
Evaluate new technologies, conduct proofs-of-concept, and drive adoption
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement as needed
Facilitate design reviews, architecture discussions, and risk assessments
Monitor delivery progress, risks, and issues; escalate and resolve as necessary
Mentor team members, conduct performance conversations, and support career development
Ensure adherence to security, governance, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
6+ years of experience in software development and technology leadership
Relevant certifications in architecture, cloud, security, or financial services domains are a plus
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
