Role Summary:
Responsible for modelling, drafting, and supporting new product introduction (NPI) activities, tooling and equipment design, and project management within the Digital Manufacturing Service (DMS) department.
What Youll Do:
- Manage daily NPI activities to ensure manufacturability and quality standards
- Develop and optimize manufacturing methods (MOM) for new products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for smooth project handoff from design to manufacturing
- Identify and mitigate risks in new product development and production
- Communicate with customers on technical and documentation issues
- Design or procure tooling, fixtures, molds, and equipment for new product manufacturing
- Collaborate with the machine shop for equipment maintenance and optimization
- Create and manage project timelines for NPI projects
- Ensure compliance with company and industry standards and regulations
What We re Looking For (Must-Haves):
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Experience in drafting and modelling
- Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
Good to Have (Optional - only if mentioned):
- Knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, and fixtures
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Knowledge of plastic welding and thermoforming
- Familiarity with ERP or SAP systems (Epicor)
Qualifications:
B. Tech in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
