Job Description CAD Design Engineer (Medical Devices)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks CAD Design, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), GD&T, and Engineering Design Calculations. Candidates with experience in the Medical Devices domain and exposure to PLM/PDM systems will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Apply DFM & DFA principles to optimize product designs for manufacturing and assembly.
• Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design validation.
• Conduct GD&T implementation and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and R&D.
• Support prototype development, testing, and product verification activities.
• Manage engineering data through PLM/PDM systems.
• Participate in design reviews and implement engineering change requests.
• Ensure compliance with medical device regulations, standards, and quality requirements.

Required Skills

• 4-6 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks CAD Design.
• Hands-on experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
• Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience in Engineering Design Calculations.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and tooling.
• Experience with PLM/PDM software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the Medical Devices industry.
• Knowledge of product development lifecycle and regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to prototype development and product testing.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 and medical device quality standards.
• Experience in risk analysis and design verification activities.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
