Cad Draughtsman

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare 2D engineering drawings for WTP, ETP, STP, WWTP, RO, SWRO, and BWRO projects using AutoCAD.
• Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings, equipment layout drawings, and plant layout drawings.
• Prepare mechanical fabrication drawings for tanks, pressure vessels, piping skids, structural supports, and equipment foundations.
• Prepare piping layout drawings, piping isometric drawings, and equipment installation drawings.
• Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) based on inputs from design and process engineers.
• Prepare detailed drawings for RO skids, membrane housings, filtration systems, chemical dosing systems, and pump arrangements.
• Prepare sectional views, assembly drawings, detailed component drawings, and bill of materials (BOM), wherever required.
• Incorporate markups and revisions provided by design engineers and maintain proper drawing revision control.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy, drawing standards, layer management, annotation, and title block compliance.
• Coordinate with design engineers, project engineers, and fabrication teams to resolve drawing-related queries.
• Review drawings for completeness, constructability, and compliance with project specifications.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on site feedback and installation changes.
• Maintain drawing registers, documentation, and project drawing files.
• Support fabrication, procurement, and site teams by providing the required engineering drawings.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D; knowledge of AutoCAD 3D is an advantage.
• Experience in mechanical drafting, piping layouts, equipment layouts, and fabrication drawings.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, sections, elevations, and material specifications.
• Basic knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, isometric drawings, and BOM preparation.
• Familiarity with pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, piping systems, valves, and water treatment equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, design calculations, technical specifications, and redline markups.
• Good attention to detail, time management, and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks or Revit MEP will be an added advantage.

Preferred Experience

• 25 years of experience in engineering drafting for water treatment, wastewater treatment, industrial process plants, or EPC projects.
• Experience in preparing fabrication and installation drawings for tanks, piping systems, skids, and treatment plant equipment.
• Candidates with experience in ETP, STP, RO, SWRO, and industrial wastewater treatment projects will be preferred.
