Job Summary

IG Defence is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer Intern to join its Engineering & Product Development team. The candidate will assist with mechanical design, 3D modelling, technical drawings, and prototype development for ongoing engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models, mechanical components, assemblies, and product enclosures.
• Prepare 2D engineering drawings and manufacturing-ready designs.
• Support rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and design validation.
• Assist with mechanical integration, mounting arrangements, and component layouts.
• Modify and improve designs based on engineering feedback and testing.
• Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams during product development.
• Maintain CAD files, design revisions, and technical documentation.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS or practical experience with comparable CAD software.
• Understanding of 3D modelling, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with mechanical design principles, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
• Basic knowledge of 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Educational Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Fusion 360, CATIA, Creo, or other CAD tools.
• Familiarity with slicing software and prototype fabrication.
• Interest in mechanical product development.
• Personal projects or a portfolio demonstrating CAD design skills.
