About this role
Job Description:
The CAE IT Analyst will support the management of IT software that address the unique requirements of Modeling & Simulation (M&S) for 1D and 3D engineering simulations. This includes troubleshooting and addressing requests for new installations and upgrades of the software.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Manages the IT platform of software that supports engineering modeling and simulation.
- Manage simulation software deployment including automated installs and license management.
- Coordinates the upgrade to Enterprise modeling & simulation software.
- Adheres to global IT standards, policies and procedures and coordinate related activities with global IT teams.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or IT required.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience support or using modeling and simulation software.
Knowledge, Skill Requirement:
- Must possess hands on experience of supporting 3D ANSYS software including Mechanical, CFX, Fluent, LS-DYNA, Workbench, and HPC.
- Experience with other 3D simulation tools from MSC, Altair, Siemens SimCenter 3D is desirable too.
- Must possess hands on experience of supporting Mathworks platform including Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, and configuration and license management of several toolbox addons.
- Must possess hands on experience with 1D simulation tools based on Modelica including Dymola.
- Experience with other engineering tools such as LabView, TIL Suite, F-Chart EES, Concepts NREC COMPAL, AxCent, DyRoBes, and Modelon are a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills, including hardware, software and basic networking.
- Understands computer architecture with an in-depth understanding of technologies most relevant to simulation run time optimization
- Apply critical thinking and collaborative approaches to improving services and solving technical challenges.
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills in order to relate well with a diverse group of end users, including coworkers, and vendors.
- Excellent written communication skills using both technical and nontechnical terminology.
- Ability to effectively document processes.
- Ability to set priorities and manage own workload, manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
