  5. The Technical Lead – C++ Development (Senior Manager) will act as the core technical authority and delivery anchor for our ultra-low-latency
  6. engineering pod. This role balances hands-on, high-performance C++ systems programming (roughly 60–70% of the time) with technical
  7. mentorship and agile sprint management (30–40%).
  8. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between high-level architectural designs and concrete, microsecond-optimized code implementation.
  9. Core Role Information
  10. • Designation: Technical Lead (Senior Manager) – C++

  13. • Reporting To: Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Development Head
  14. Key Responsibilities
  15. 1. Hands-on Low-Latency Systems Engineering
  16. • Write, optimize, and maintain high-performance execution
  17. engines and market data applications using Modern C++
  18. (C++17/20).
  19. • Implement deterministic, low-latency programming paradigms,
  20. strictly avoiding runtime heap allocations (malloc/new) on the
  21. trading hot-path through custom memory pools and placement
  22. new.
  23. • Develop ultra-fast Inter-Process Communication (IPC)
  24. frameworks—such as shared memory rings and lock-free circular
  25. queues—to pass data across trading components with sub-
  26. microsecond overhead.
  28. • Design highly concurrent, multi-threaded workflows, configuring
  29. thread affinity (pthread_setaffinity_np) and optimizing data
  30. layouts to prevent CPU cache thrashing and lock contention.
  32. • Incorporate proprietary template-based architectures or High-
  33. Level Template (HTL) constructs to shift computational logic to compile-time.
  35. 2. Core Data Engineering & Domain Integration

  39. • Apply expert-level knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms
  40. to engineer optimal custom indexing, sorting, and binary parsing
  41. solutions.
  42. • Design and maintain high-throughput relational tracking
  43. databases using MySQL for order logs, risk configurations, and
  44. reference data management.
  45. • Leverage trading domain knowledge to translate complex
  46. financial logic (such as order routing, compliance checks, risk
  47. management parameters, or exchange protocols like FIX, ITCH, or
  48. SBE) into concrete technical implementations.
  49. 3. Technical Leadership & Code Governance
  50. • Lead daily sprint cycles, translate functional specifications into
  51. technical tasks, and ensure timely product delivery.
  52. • Enforce absolute code quality via strict peer code reviews,
  53. continuous profiling (using tools like Valgrind, gprof, or Perf), and
  54. performance regression benchmarking.
  55. • Provide daily technical guidance and mentorship to engineers,
  56. establishing standardized coding guidelines for the team.
  57. Job Specific Skills • C++ & Metaprogramming Expertise: Exceptional mastery of
  58. systems-level C++, including template metaprogramming, RAII,
  59. smart pointers, and strict memory safety.
  61. • Concurrency Mastery: Practical experience writing production-
  62. grade, lock-free, atomic, and multi-threaded processing pipelines.
  64. • Low-Latency Infrastructure: Clear understanding of CPU
  65. architectures (cache line synchronization, branch predictors) and
  66. Linux OS tuning (core isolation, kernel bypass).
  67. • Data Layout & DB Optimization: Advanced ability to optimize
  68. algorithms for hardware cache locality and structure complex
  69. database queries, indexes, and schemas in MySQL.
  70. • HTL Frameworks: Experience using template libraries or
  71. customized HTL concepts to achieve zero-overhead abstractions.
  72. Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  73. • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science,
  74. Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative stream.
  75. • Experience: 8+ years of professional software development
  76. experience in systems programming, with at least 3+ years of
  77. experience leading small-to-mid-sized developer teams or pods.
  78. • Domain Advantage: Prior background in High-Frequency Trading
  79. (HFT), investment bank execution desks, derivatives risk systems,
  80. or market data feeds is highly desirable.
