Vice President, Platform Engineering

Job Description

Key Responsibilities Build and evolve core platform services across public cloud (Azure as primary platform, AWS as secondary)

Write production-quality code — this is a hands-on engineering role (80%)

Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred) and automation-first delivery

Develop internal developer platform and self-service tooling

Ensure platforms are secure, reliable, and observable by design

Partner with teams across Europe, North America, and India

Act as a senior technical authority and mentor engineers

Qualifications Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.        

Key Skills Azure (primary platform) with AWS exposure

Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation or similar acceptable

CI/CD experience – GitLab preferred (Jenkins, TeamCity, Harness acceptable)

What We’re Looking For Senior hands-on platform / cloud engineer (not a manager-led role) with 10+ years of experience

Demonstrated experience designing and building scalable systems

Strong coding, automation, and problem-solving mindset

Comfortable working across globally distributed teams
