Business SME Ontology

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience , with deep functional knowledge
• Ability to define business terms precisely and spot ambiguity or overlap between concepts
• Strong skill in identifying relationships between concepts (parent-child, part-of, depends-on, etc.)
• Experience with business glossaries, data dictionaries, taxonomies or data governance work
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including handling disagreement between stakeholders
• Strong documentation skills

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with ontology and semantic concepts (taxonomy vs. ontology, classes, properties, RDF/OWL)

and tools such as Protg

• Exposure to knowledge graphs, data catalogs or metadata management tools (Collibra, Alation, Purview,

etc.)

• Understanding of data modelling basics (entities, attributes, relationships)

• Exposure to AI/LLM use cases that rely on business context or semantic layers
• Experience working with data governance or data stewardship teams
