• Build strong sources across business, industry, policy and government
• Track companies and sectors, especially those seeing major investments
• Analyse annual reports, regulatory filings, government data and policy documents
• Connect corporate developments with the larger economy and policy landscape
• Produce sharp, data-backed stories on companies, sectors, investments, regulation and economic trends
• Think digital-first across Search, Discover and social platforms
• Work independently and move quickly in a fast-paced newsroom

Requirements

• Strong business and economic news judgement
• Excellent reporting, sourcing and interviewing skills
• Ability to understand companies, balance sheets and economic data
• Strong story generation and analytical skills
• Clean, sharp and engaging writing
• Curiosity to ask: Why What changed Who does this affect What happens next

Qualifications

• Experience covering manufacturing, new energy, automobiles, data centres, defence, real estate, consumer businesses, trade, investment or the macroeconomy will be an advantage.
