About this role
About The Team The smallcase Publisher platform enables manufacturers (licensed research firms and advisors) to productize their research as smallcases and scale their practice while the platform handles investor communication, reporting, fee collection & operational workflows. The platform also enables distributors to access these smallcases & offer these as transparent investment products to their client base.
About The Role We are looking for a Business Manager to own and grow a portfolio of SEBI Registered RA and RIAs, while driving new partner acquisition for the smallcase Publisher platform. As a Business Manager, you will operate as a strategic growth partner to model portfolio managers, helping them grow subscriptions, increase investor engagement, launch new strategies, and scale their business. You will also be responsible for identifying and onboarding new managers who can benefit from the smallcase ecosystem. This role combines business development, account growth, strategic partnerships, consulting, and capital markets expertise. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys building relationships, solving business problems, and driving measurable commercial outcomes.
What you will do:Own Business Growth for Your Portfolio
- Manage a portfolio of accounts and be accountable for their success on the platform
- Develop monthly/quarterly growth plans aligned with partner business objectives
- Identify expansion opportunities and unlock new revenue streams for partners
- Drive adoption of new platform features, products, and initiatives
Build Strategic Partnerships
- Develop strong relationships with founders, CEOs, CIOs, research heads, and investment teams
- Act as a trusted advisor to partners by providing business insights and growth recommendations
- Conduct regular business reviews and present actionable recommendations based on performance data.
- Influence key business decisions through strategic thinking and market insights
Drive New Partner Acquisition
- Identify, engage, and onboard SEBI-registered advisors onto the Publisher platform
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective partners through outbound prospecting and networking
- Conduct cold outreach through calls, emails, LinkedIn, industry events, and referrals
- Lead the sales process from initial conversation through onboarding and go-live
- Work closely with leadership to identify and prioritise strategic partnership opportunities
Drive Subscriber and Investor Growth
- Work closely with publishers to improve new investor acquisition, engagement, and retention
- Recommend growth initiatives across product positioning, content strategy, distribution, and marketing
- Collaborate with internal marketing teams on campaigns, webinars, events, and investor outreach initiatives
- Help partners build scalable growth engines to increase subscriptions and investor participation
Influence Product and Platform Development
- Act as the voice of managers within the company
- Provide structured feedback and market insights to Product, Operations, and Leadership teams
- Contribute to platform improvements that enhance partner growth and user experience
- Identify recurring partner challenges and advocate for scalable solutions
Join Us If You
- Have 4–6 years of experience in Business Development, Partnerships, Account Management, Wealth Management, Asset Management, or FinTech
- Have a strong understanding of capital markets, investments, and the wealth management ecosystem
- Hold a valid NISM XV – Research Analyst Certification or be willing to obtain the certification before joining. Candidates without an active certification will be required to clear the NISM XV examination prior to their date of joining
- Possess strong commercial acumen and can independently identify growth opportunities
- Have experience managing senior stakeholders and driving strategic business conversations
- Are comfortable with outbound prospecting and converting opportunities into long-term partnerships
- Can analyse data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable growth initiatives
- Have excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
