Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role based in Chennai. The Business Development Manager will identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities and distribution channels to grow IndiaFirst Life’s customer base and premium income. Responsibilities include building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, brokers, and corporate clients, conducting market analysis, and tracking sales performance against business targets. The role involves planning and executing sales initiatives, training and supporting channel partners, and coordinating with internal teams such as marketing, operations, and product to ensure effective service delivery. The Business Development Manager will also contribute to local market strategies, provide regular business reports, and uphold compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Qualifications
- Proven skills in business development and sales, including lead generation, opportunity assessment, and closure.
- Experience in relationship management and stakeholder engagement, particularly with banking partners, distributors, or corporate clients.
- Strong market analysis and planning capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable strategies.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Knowledge of life insurance products, financial services, or related domains is highly beneficial.
- Comfort with digital tools, CRM systems, and reporting platforms to track performance and manage pipelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a target-driven environment and adapt to a dynamic, customer-focused culture.
